The Associate Product Manager opportunity is a training ground for future product managers. Your responsibilities will include helping to identify consumer requirements, define product strategy, user website experience, usability & design enhancements product offerings and working with engineers to execute it. This role will help you prepare a broad based understanding of business by also requiring you to extensively work with stakeholders throughout the organization such as support teams for operations, sales, contracting, customer-support, marketing, legal and accounting to meet requirements of the business.

Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with product manager and engineering to conceptualize and develop a deep understanding of customers, both internal and external, identify gaps in core product functionality, and help build the right set of features and then track adoption
* Gather detailed functional requirements, identify feature details and document them (PRD: product requirement document) to support rapid development (specifications, schedules, etc.) and effectively manage trade-offs between cost/schedule versus customer benefit.
* Ensure PRDs, flow diagrams and wireframes are properly translated to the live site and drive problem resolution once the new feature has gone live.
* Define and conduct market research to gain knowledge about user behavior and competition. Gather information and data from multiple sources (consumer research, partners, vendors, competitive analysis), develop insights, and translate findings into action.
* Provide analytics based insights to improve marketing teams capability to calculate return on marketing investments and optimize marketing spend.
* Working with support teams to manage operational issues such as legal compliance, fulfillment, managing relationships with external partners and champion customer satisfaction by working with customer support to oversee customer grievance resolution and trouble shooting in case of escalations.
Requirement:
Education and Experience:
* Ideal candidate would have a techno-business background (education or work experience) with 1-4 years work experience.
* Bachelors in IT/CS/Engineering or a degree in Business Administration /Eco/Stats is desirable. However BA/BSc/BComs from top colleges can also apply.
* Experience in Software or Internet Company either as a developer/analyst or any other support function role is a must.
* Work experience in a startup environment would be great advantage.
Functional:
* Demonstrate competence in user-centered design, systematically gathering data, interpreting the results, identify product opportunities, pain-points and creatively solving product & process challenges.
* Ability or experience in writing business requirements and functional specifications.
* Exposure and ability to work with cross-functional teams, interface with various support function teams such as technology, marketing, sales, customer support, legal and accounting.
Personal Traits:
* A high level of interest and passion for consumer internet world will be a necessary criterion. Collaboration, passion and user advocacy are a must! Should be very curious, specifically about how users think, how products work and latest developments in design, usability and technology
* Distinctive problem solving and Quantitative analytical abilities. Would rather use Excel than Word. Strong attention to detail and pride in thorough and structured thought process.
* Easily trainable, listens well, picks hints with ease, allows self to be influenced by others’ ideas and be able to work with minimal supervision. Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced unstructured environment with dynamic changing priorities. Willingness and comfort in acting on incomplete knowledge.
