IT Field Technician - Bangalore, Hyderabad and Gurgaon

As Google grows, the number of Google office locations is growing too. We are looking for experienced IT (Field) Engineers responsible for supporting the growing needs of Google’s businesses and offices across India and coordinating technical resources at various locations worldwide. We are looking for individuals who are highly technical and capable of directly supporting all the IT needs of Google offices. The job role and expectations will vary between purely technical and techno-managerial depending on your experience and past accomplishments.

Responsibilities:

    Provide direct support for OS and applications for desktops/laptops and user access to corporate network and applications both on the network as well as through remote VPN access. . Provide direct support for services such as office phones, the Avaya switch, cell phones, Blackberry devices, video conferencing, and remote access VPN. . Provide direct support for Google’s corporate resources and applications. . Provide direct support for Google’s office relocations and expansions. . Ensuring smooth IT operations and responsible for uptime of corporate network and critical resources.

General requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent). . 5-10 years of experience working in a global IT organization, a majority of which should be in a global Multi-National organization. . The ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information. . Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and customer service skills. . Strong project planning, management and technical problem-solving skills. . Highly detail-oriented, excellent analytical skills and willingness to work as part of a rapidly growing, truly global team. . Willingness to travel nationally and internationally for special projects and other remote office support. . Excellent oral and written English skills, including excellent project/ process documentation skills. . Willingness to work in shifts or on “on-call” basis along with other team members for ensuring 24×7 support to critical services/ businesses.

Technical skills:

    Excellent exposure and strong troubleshooting skills on Windows, Linux and MAC OS, LDAP, Active Directory, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, email technologies. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience of at least 4 years or more in supporting all or most of the above. . The ability to configure, perform upgrades, and relocate office-wide/location-wide desktop hardware, software, print devices. . Good understanding of LAN/ WAN environments. . Experience and strong trouble shooting skills on applications in a Linux and Microsoft networked environment. . Expertise in deploying and supporting cell phones, Avaya phone systems, video conferencing, enterprise-wide Blackberry phones and various wireless devices, including wireless networks will be an added advantage.
