Job Description - Google is hiring Unix Administrators to support our global UNIX services and infrastructure. Supporting the growing offices and server infrastructure in the Asia region will be one of the key responsibilities. Working in a demanding and fast-paced environment will be one of the challenges. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the trait of pioneering innovation. A strong sense of customer orientation is also expected.

• Configure system and network parameters.
• Monitor stability and performance.
• Ensure 24×7 operations.
• Assist with corporate Linux deployment across various platforms.
• Rapidly scale system to meet demand.
• Help develop tools to maintain and monitor the cluster.
• Write proposals, present to management.
• Write comprehensive documentation.
• 4 to 8 years experience with Linux/UNIX.
• 4+ years running large production systems.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and load balancing.
• Working knowledge of security, web servers, NIS/NFS, MTAs.
• Programming/scripting (BASH, Perl Python, and C).
• Excellent verbal and written skills with outstanding customer
